At the end of 2016, a small UFO of the French world music scene arrived out of nowhere – in this case his adopted Colombia – with a first remarkable album, Satingarona pt 1. The Bongo Hop, a French trumpeter, composer and producer, had spent a life of wandering, questioning, traveling far from his bases, before trying his hand at music to create soundscapes that were all his own. As with this barrel of rum discovered in the bowels of an old galleon forgotten under the sonars, we discovered the complex aromas of a nectar that draws its powerful taste from many years of coming and going across the Atlantic.

Deep brass, cut in an Afro Caribbean groove with a Colombian sauce, associated with tickling electric sounds inherited from his affection for Rumba and High Life records from the 70s, abundant polyrhythms… Seduce from the outset figures as diverse as the Afro Colombian diva Nidia Gongora, the rapper Greg Frite (Triptik), the prince of Angolan semba Paulo Flores, or the Algerian Souad Asla (Les Héritières), making him discover in passing little-known figures like the Haitian singer Kephny Eliacin. On stage with his live band, he seduces an ever-growing audience through 150 concerts on stages as prestigious as they are varied, from the jazz festival to current stages: Musiques Métisses, the Barbican Centre in London, Ariano Folk Festival, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Belle ile on air, the Festival du Bout du Monde, Nuits d’Afrique Montreal, Fusion festival, Foreztival, Wolfi Jazz, Tempo Latino, Biarritz Amerique Latine, but also Hootananny Brixton, New Morning, Run Ar Puns, Le Transbordeur…
