Somewhere between Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s Synthetic Fantasia, the slow movements of Bruckner and Mahler symphonies, Kraftwerk, and Pink Floyd at their most sublime, the album unfolds as a singular journey through sound, space, and emotion.
A pianist, keyboardist, and composer based between Paris and Rio de Janeiro, Arnaud Roulin has crafted a distinctive musical universe at the crossroads of jazz, classical music, and atmospheric soundscapes.
A collaborator of artists including Koudlam, Jeanne Added, Laurent Bardainne, and Thomas de Pourquery, Roulin’s music draws from the entire history of the classical piano, the equally rich and sublime world of synthesizers, the freedom of jazz improvisation, and a form of contemplative, immersive easy listening.

To create his new album, Voyage Pentatonique, Arnaud Roulin retreats into the studio to take flight, joined by his trusted producer, Thomas de Pourquery, and his longtime collaborator on the machines, Nicolas Villebrun.
Behind the console is the cream of a new generation of sound engineers, with Thomas Rasoanaivo handling the recording and Guillaume Jay at the mixing desk.

Rejecting logic and rationality, Arnaud Roulin draws an immense thread between razor-sharp composition and high-wire improvisation. Here, the piano enters into dialogue with an orchestra of synthesizers.

Arnaud Roulin has worked with leading artists such as Poni Hoax, Sébastien Tellier, Catherine Ringer, Jim Black, Laurent Bardainne’s Le Tigre d’eau Douce, Camélia Jordana and Thomas de Pourquery’s Supersonic. His pianistic influences include Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, Don Pullen, Alice Coltrane, Hermeto Pascoal and Anne Queffelec … His style is so distinctive that his music manages to bring together classical piano, solo jazz piano and easy listening in a single sound. One can hear the influence of Frédéric Chopin, Érik Satie, Nina Simone and Emahoy Tsegue-Maryam Guebrou."​
