Biography

Renowned for his unique approach to improvisation, Yaron Herman is a pianist and composer at the crossroads of jazz, classical and contemporary music. Passionate about learning and creativity, he developed his own personal style very early on, combining virtuosity, spontaneity and deep melodic sensitivity. His playing, imbued with a great deal of freedom, moves between a wide range of influences, from the classical repertoire to pop sounds and innovative rhythmic explorations.

Winner of a number of prestigious awards, his honours include a 2008 Victoire du Jazz for Revelation of the Year and an Adami Jazz Talent Prize. He was president of the piano competition jury at the Montreux Jazz Festival, and a mentor at the Montreux Jazz Academy. He has performed at the most prestigious festivals and concert halls in Europe, the United States and Asia, captivating audiences with his inspired playing and unique performances.
